Infinity Dachshunds

Hi, nice to meet you! Let me tell you how we got started 26 years ago with Dachshunds!

When my first son was 9 years old, he fell in love with my friend’s dachshunds. She promised him a puppy from her next litter.

Back then, I wanted nothing to do with little dogs,as I bred and raised Labrador Retrievers. To try and discourage him, I told him he had to write me a report as to why a dachshund would be a great addition to our family. (Mind you this was before the internet!) I was truly hoping he’d forget and I’d be off the hook!😉

Well, to my surprise, he went to the library and read every book he could find about dachshunds, their personalities,their care and requirements and wrote the report! How could I say ” no”?

Sadly, my friend never had another litter😥. I searched and searched for months for a puppy to keep my promise to my son. Finally, I met a breeder in 1999, who told me she had a boy pup that she was planning on keeping for stud. After hearing our story, we were invited to meet him, with the agreement to let her use him as a stud, when needed.

It was love at first sight! My son and his new pup, Gadget, were inseparable!😍

Gadget was such a remarkable dog, that we no longer bred Labradors- only dachshunds! Gadget was the most amazing dog! He lived to be 16 years old!
